Get yourself your hot beverage and settle in. This month's Mailing list is brimming. I've got an amazing give away to celebrate Spring finally getting off her fat arse.

A whole new Comic strip to wrap your noggin' round; Plot Killer, plus brand new Life Lessons with Lemons; she's a peach.

Or wrap your brain mush around my new book review, plus a peek at all my new products and a celebration of National Biscuit Day but first...

Things To Be Happy About...

I've decided to create this new little section because it's important to remember that the world isn't always a washing machine full of crap, being filled with more crap by crappy people.

It's National Doughnut Week

7th of May - 15th of May 2022 Bakeries, cafes, coffee shops, well, anywhere they sell happiness in ringed form; The Doughnut takes part. They sign up to raise funds for the charity The Children’s Trust, and you get to eat sweet treats without the guilt. It's a win win.

Find out who's taking part in your area.

Towel Day

25th May

If you're a sci-fi nerd, skip on as I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir; if not, strap in because I'm going to tell you a secret. If you travel the world, the universe even time, always carry a towel with you. It's the number one rule of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, written by the wonderful Douglas Adams. If you have a towel, you have a blanket, a sail, a head wrap, a weapon (when it's wet) and on and on. Its potential is endless. And in honour of this brilliant insight (amongst others), every 25th of May, fans of Adam's work carry a towel with them. It's a surreal nod to a surreal writer.

National Biscuit Day

29th of May

An excuse* to push in biscuits.

Here's a recipe card for some kick-arse biscuits that double up on the biscuits.

*I'm pretending that I don't inhale rich tea with my Yorkshire tea, that I don't push small children out of the way if there's a plate of chocolate bourbons sitting out, and I haven't stashed penguin bars in places they shouldn't be.

Free Shizzle

Last but not least, to celebrate Spring I've created a great little promotion for my shop, 3 for 2 on ALL greeting cards. One month only.

So What's Shiny and Chrome?

I had so much fun with my banana theme I've only gone and extended it. But there's loads of new banana themed (super fudging amazing) products to get your chops around. Have a gander...

What I've Been...

Reading...

This Is How You Lose the Time War

Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone

This book is weird... and all the better for it. Written by two authors working in tandem, it's set... well, everywhere and anytime. Two future factions are at war, each trying to control the timelines, and yes, that's not a typo; it's ALL the branches of all the timelines.

The writers use a light literary touch; no one scene gets bogged down in detail; it's just a beautiful foggy window in. A potential seed planted in time and then off to another place, a thousand more seeds to go. Sometimes the novel feels like a series of short stories but what holds it all together is we're following two agents from either side, Blue and Red.

Blue changes everything when they leave a letter for Red, setting a series of events that can't be undone.

If you only love hard sci-fi, this book may not be for you. Poetic, almost lyrical at times, it's an imaginative novel exploring time, love, and humanity's nature. If you enjoy reading Kazuo Ishiguro, it's a good bet you'll enjoy this one.

Doodling...

I've been ruining films/T.V all culture for the other half for the best part of ten years now. Figuring out the plot twist in the first scene, knowing who the murderer is, pointing out plot hole after plot hole after plot hole.

Warning... click the link Comic Strip Page and I’ll ruin everything you love too.

Plot Killer Debut

Life Lesson with Lemons...

As always, My insgram gets first dibs, so if you like what you see give me a follow you won't be disappointed.

And that's it!

Watch out for next month where I'll be playing with a brand new theme, (Bugs), more comics and Flash Fiction and I'm doing something special for Father's Day.
